Minimally Invasive Instrumentation
Minimally invasive instrumentation includes of the use of screws, rods and cages (spacers) that are placed in the spine through the special retractors used in minimally invasive fusions. The technology of minimally invasive instrumentation is constantly improving. The use of fluoroscopy and other intra-operative imaging allows the surgeon to perform the task of placing the hardware in the spine through a small incision safely and effectively.
