Rich Plasma Injection Platelets
Platelet Rich Plasma therapy (PRP) is an innovative injectional technique that utilizes concentrated platelet cells taken from a patient’s own blood rather than a manufactured agent. This approach continues to be investigated for its effectiveness in a pain management setting, and it has been trialed in many other medical and dental areas. PRP has been found to be effective in facilitating the healing of tissues and repair and regeneration of bone, and has a reduced risk of infection. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis; the blood is drawn, spun at high speed to separate the protein-rich plasma, and injected into the painful area.
